PetSaver™ Pet CPR and First Aid Classes for the Bay Area

Learn the skills you'll need to provide immediate first aid care to a dog or cat that has been injured or becomes suddenly ill.

According to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), 1-out-of-4 more pets would survive, if just one pet first aid technique was applied prior to getting emergency veterinary care.

Attending a pet CPR/First Aid class will change your way of thinking and help you to view pets in a manner that puts safety first and empowers you to make better decisions that could potentially save a life.

The PetSaver™ Program is a comprehensive, hands on, interactive workshop intended to equip participants with information and skills necessary to provide immediate first aid care to a dog or cat that has been injured or become suddenly ill. Our practice simulations and course work will enable participants to respond with confidence to a variety of emergency situations for the stabilization of an injured or ill animal until veterinary help is available.
This course is not a substitute for veterinary care, but rather an early intervention approach for initial response to cat and dog emergencies that can prevent or minimize long term or fatal effects of injuries or illness.

PetSaver™ 8 Hour Course

(course may be split into two 4 hour sessions)

Includes First Aid, CPR, Geriatric Care, Dental Care, PetSaver™ handbook, and certificate. This program is especially designed for pet professionals but is also great for individuals who really want an in depth knowledge of pet first aid.

The PetSaver™ Program is an eight hour course that will cover the topics needed to take the best possible care of your pet including, but not limited to:

Primary Assessment (Triage)

Rescue Breathing/CPR

Choking Management

Bleeding and Shock Management

Fractures

"Snout to Tail" Wellness Assessment

Assessing the Pet's Vital Signs

First Aid Kits and Preparation

Caring for your Senior Pet

Additionally, the class includes the PetSaver™ handbook, and upon successful completion each participant will receive a certificate.

After completing the PetSaver™ Program, you will know what to do and what actions to take in the event of an emergency with your loved one.

Pet First Aid & Care for Your Pets : 4 Hour Course

(course is one 4 hour session)

This course is perfect for anyone who puts their hands on a pet in the course of a day. Many of the same topics will be covered as in the 8 hour PetSaver™ class, but will be covered in less depth and with less hands on training. For individuals and pet professionals.

This is a 4 hour course that will include, but is not limited to the following topics:

Hosting a Class

Hosting a class is a great way to have a class tailored to your groups needs/interests. If you have just 5 friends or family members interested in the program, we can do a private class in the comfort of your own home! Invite 7 people and the host gets to take the class for FREE! In addition, we offer discounted fees for children between the ages of 11-17 at a family hosted class. You will also have the flexibility of setting up a scheduled date and time that best suits you and your guests.

If you have a retail location, there are many incentives! In addition to our own marketing and tie-ins, you will increase business to your establishment, have the option of training your staff, & much much more!

The program may also be offered as part of adult learning education or for employees at your business.

For school, hospitals, offices, and any other classroom type settings, hosting a public Pet First Aid & CPR class is a great benefit to your community!!

In addition to believing that every person that puts their hands on a pet in the course of a day should be trained in these lifesaving techniques, we also strongly believe in and promote, pet rescue and adoption.

We have many programs designed to work with rescues and shelters that involve everything from staff training, to demonstrations at adoption events, to help with receiving donations.

About the Instructor

Marna comes to The Animal Nanny from a long background working professionally with animals. A lifelong and enthusiastic animal lover, she began her career as a registered veterinary technician. In that capacity over many years she has had experience and built expertise in several areas, including emergency management. She has also served as hospital manager for two veterinary clinics.
